The Worshipful Masters Charity

This year myself and my wife Emma are proud to have chosen to support Cancer Research U.K
Cancer Research UK provides finance into the life-saving research into finding a cure for cancer.  Throughout the year on top of donations from the brethren, we will also be raising money for the charity at various social events, through raffles and auctions.
I must confess that this is very close to my heart after losing my father in December 2017, after a very short 4 week battle with Cancer and only 2 weeks after he was initiated into our fantastic Lodge.  Not only did I lose a father, but the Lodge also lost a friend and brother.
Cancer Research UK is the world's leading independent charity dedicated to cancer research.  They carry out scientific research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.  They have discovered new ways to beat cancer and together have saved hundreds of thousands of lives across the world.
One in three of us will get cancer at some point in our lives.  Their groundbreaking work, funded almost entirely by the general public, will ensure that millions more people survive.  This is a terrible disease which does not discriminate.  It destroys the lives of innocent men, women and children.  Not only for those personally battling this life threatening disease but also those who support their loved ones through treatment and in some cases their passing.
In our life we will all know someone who is or has battled cancer, be it a loved one or a friend.  It is only through public donations that this life saving research can be carried out and can continue.
With public donation it is hoped that a cure will finally be found and we can finally say goodbye to Cancer.
